Today marks the two week anniversary of my return to the Western world. Conducting the SLSI from abroad feels very different. Being away has me pondering how fragile the Tibetan situation truly is — so fragile, yet so spirited and strong in its stand against oppression. I have been struck by a sense of profound humility. It feels like I was holding my breath the whole summer: getting tasks done, writing and rewriting to-do lists. The day-to-day experience in Dharamsala did not allow for this kind of retrospective contemplation.
